Here is a not-too-photographed side of Mt. Rainier, taken in the summer when some of the snow had melted away. I used a 300 mm lens for the compression effect. I hope you enjoy the image.

That is one lovely photograph. I love the different coloring with the mist. That's such a beautiful mountain and you captured it wonderfully!clap.gif

Just gorgeous! I can see the mountain and the foreground trees as two separate awesome photos, but you caught them both in one. Talk about opportunity! thumb.gif

Unusual treatment. It takes a bit of adjusting to your pastel colors. That is not negative. I just find myself having to wait awhile to let my eyes begin to see it in its difference.

I don't like the intense blue patches on the mountain, to me they look wrong. I would rather see snow white. I think the sky should have a more balanced share of the illumination with the mountaintop. And the final nit ismwink.gif, to me the title fights for attention with the subject.

This is a shot to ponder and learn from, as well as to admire.

As always, thank you for your thoughtful and honest critique, Neil. It's much appreciated! I may apply a selective mask on the mountain and tone down the blues a bit. In regard to the title...it stays. :D I don't know if you've visited Seattle before, but every so often we get great views of Rainier. She seems to be just floating in the air, looking down on us. I always think of her as some beautiful Goddess looking down on her admirers. :D

Thanks, Rocky! This was actually take from near Tacoma, WA, on my way back from Mt. Rainier National Park. The light was so nice, I had to stop the car, hike about 1/4 of a mile off the road and get this shot.
