Was at a car show this weekend and took a couple hundred pics. I caught this one of my sister's Scion xD during the roll-in. I love how her face and the front of her graphics are sharp, but the rest is blurred.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to keep the car sharp while getting the wheel and background blurred a bit?

Here is another pic I took and liked how it turned out.

You will need to use a slower shutter speed. While the car is driving past you pan your camera with the car. Snap the shutter while panning.
With the slower shutter speed, the background will be blurry as will the wheels but the car will be sharp.

In this example, the car was moving at 230+ MPH and I did a poor job at keeping the car in focus. You will notice the wheels and background are blured and the car is almost sharp. The SS was 1/250, f/8, ISO 100. I know 1/250 is a fast SS but not for something moving across your lens at 230 MPH.
