So I got to do my second engagement shoot this past Saturday. I must say it was a very nice day for it. Only down side was the sun was to bright so my groom to be always had a small squint no matter what ( I even had his back to the sun). Anyway check out the photos and I'd love to hear some thoughts! You can see the gallery here. I'll also attach a few of my favorites.

Great compositions, love that wall with the squares in it!

Looks like my only suggestion would be to use a little fill flash or a reflector to light up those shadows on their faces.

I think #1 could use more contrast, but it's a good shot.

    Hey,
Wes ... good to see another post.- session.

    A couple of thoughts.....
    #5 is nice. good grab.
#6 Nice with fill flash - but process w/ a little more 'pop' -contrast.

#3/#4/#7/#8 all require better composition. The lines are not working w/ you.

#1 Have her lean her head into him.
Try pulling the couple a little further out from the wall and shoot w/ a shallow DOF.

#2 - remember that the moment before the actually kiss gets the imagination - interest in the shot.

#9 - shoot in portrait position as appose to landscape.

Overall - shooting in middle of day is working against you. See if you can push the time back to 6-ish pm.

    Hope this helps

    Just my 2 cents.

    Later,
    _Mark

Echo the comments about the fill flash being needed. I understand the issue you had with the squint and your attempts to eliminate them. However it appears that in an effort to direct his face away from the sun, you produced some pretty harsh shadows. A fill flash would have eliminated those shadows and produced a much nice shot.

Love the settings and good job of posing them.

    Cute couple.
Try to get more shots of them exhibiting youthful exuberance, having fun.
Fill flash and levels adjustment would help these as well.

Great shots. My fav is #3.

My only suggestion would be to get a much shallower DOP. I am a huge fan of background separation. Portraits are f/4 and below for me. Work that bokeh! :)

Good work! I bet they like 9, I'm a fan of 8 and 6. I'd like to see 3 in black and white. Nice! --Lisa
