U10 Baseball - what's up with the tongue?
Last sunday I took some pictures of the 6-9 year olds playing at our local field. They never before had this much public as that day. It was election day (flemish government and european council), and the elections were held in the building next to the field. The most of our village (population 3600) passed there during the game. Our team could not get any better advertising for baseball than that.
Conditions were not easy: Almost no sun and changing cloud conditions. Had to jump between iso400 and iso800, and between f/2.8 and f/3.5, which I even forgot to do the most of the time (1D MkIII + 70-200L f/2.8 IS).
It started raining 10 minutes after the game had ended.
While processing the pictures, I noticed a lot of the player sticked out their tongue (which I think could be risky in case one would fall or got hit on the chin)
1. Starting to swing ...
2. Swing ...
3. Both of them ...
4. Even while running ...
5. Another one running ... (he scored a point)
Some other action:
6. This was the smallest kid on the field (six years old)
7. See the difference in size with a nine year old...
8. Another point scored...

With #3 the focus seems to be better on the kid sliding as I was tracking him. I also noticed that it wasn't as sharp as the others. Still good enough for me. Also because it shows some action.
#8 the catcher was indeed chasing the ball by the fence.
