Hello,
I was wondering something, i am pondering on getting this lens, but i have a quick question about it
on the aperature of 2.8, is that all the way through the lens or just at 70mm?
what im asking is, can i get 2.8 also at 200?
if so, then this lens is making more sense to me
Thanks
Mike

Mike if you refer to the Nikkor 70-200mm, f2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR, it is a "constant aperture" lens and yes, it will support f2.8 from 70mm through 200mm. Several of Nikon's best zooms (some are no longer in production) in this general range are also constant aperture f2.8 zooms.

thank you for the info
i think that makes me understand the lens a lot better, i thought it was only at 70 for 2.8
If it were f2.8 only at 70mm then it would be described as
70-200 f2.8 - X.X .....where x.x could be 3.5, 4.5, 5.6, or 6.3 .....commonly known as variable aperture lenses.
hope this makes understanding lens nomenclature a bit easier for you.....took me a while to get a grasp on it back in the day...................:D
