hi everyone I've been a fan of Dgrin for a few years, though I haven't posted in the past year. I'm working on a few International Year of Astronomy 2009 (http://astronomy2009.org) projects, one of which is Dark Skies Awareness (http://www.darkskiesawareness.org).
With The World at Night photographer's project (http://twanight.org) they are holding an Earth and Sky Photography contest, please check it out here: http://www.darkskiesawareness.org/photo-contest.php
Also take a gander (and it will be a long one, I promise!) at the TWAN website (http://twanight.org) -- there are amazing images of night scenes (star trails, comets, World Heritage sites, constellations, Milky Way, etc.) from amazing world famous photogs (David Malin, Wally Pacholka, Serge Brunier, Fred Espanak, Babak Tafreshi, and more).
Please consider this opportunity to use your night photography to promote Dark Skies Awareness.
Thanks!
Adrienne Gauthier
