Edit: reworked the flower. Background was driving me crazy.

I'm likin' the bee picture, myself. thumb.gif Very theme-worthy.

I like the tracks too. thumb.gif Maybe call it Parallel Curves.

Can you boost the contrast between the rails?

thumb.gif I really like the sencond flower as well! If you can bring out some of the detail in the flower itself, I think that would be a finalist for sure!

    Yeah...clap.gifclapclap.gif

You pulled it off..Knew you would.. Nice work...

I favor the tracks and the second bee flower photo.. You lost all of the shadow detail on the last flower, looks like you boosted the contrast to darken the background and if you do that to the entire photo, the flower will blowout and that looks like what happened..headscratch.gif

So, the tracks are the strongest contender.. however, I do not like what you did with the second edit, it killed the trailing definition.. You need that light silver on the tracks to guide our eyes up and out of the frame.. I think what Brian was suggesting is increasing the contrast in the "middle" between the tracks so further contrast the silver rails...

Maybe try again and use a brush to "burn" on a very low pressure in the middle is my suggestion... or try to adjust contrast and brightness together with the sliders..

That's my advice.. It is a strong entry Donna, you just need to
    give it a "boost"thumb.gif

Ahhh... I knew you would be along soon.
I will work on the tracks this afternoon.
The second flower was actually a different one that I didn't like as well... I wasn't paying enough attention I guess. Not sure it is worth the effort to go work on the first one again, I really am liking the tracks more and more.

    Thanks Kat

ok, instead of burning the first, I lighten the track rails. Much easier. I couldn't get an even look to the burn.
How about "Off the beaten track"?
    any better?

    Tracks is the winner.
I like the tracks shot. It fits the theme in so many ways as well.

    Nope.. Well enough alone...

I like the first and original.... Now the rocks on the left and right sides keep tugging and putting up a fight for my eyes attention,, ya don't want that, you want the stark silver on the tracks to guide the eyes, not the rocks because they lead "out" of the composition too low down in the frame and you want the tracks to help our eyes go up and out of the frame up top and to help us exit to the top right.... the rocks trap the viewer too low down in the composition..

    am I making any sense?rolleyes1.gifroflrolleyes1.gif

rolleyes1.gif and now... after looking for 2 weeks for something that really said "single or plural", I saw this windmill this morning on my way to the refuge. Not that I like it bett or want to work on it to see if it could get better... but why didn't I see this 2 weeks ago? rolleyes1.gif
