Upload Prblem !!!!!!!!!!!1

etfgetfg Registered Users Posts: 26 Big grins
so i have another site where people upload their images,
these images are then automatically placed in an email and sent to my smugmug for automatic uploading.
sounds like it should work but it ddoesnt.
smugmug doest upload those images.

I have tested my eamil uploads and all is working fine from my outllok.
I tried sending the uploaded image from my site to my outlook then i sent it on to smugmu, but this also doesnt work.

I am wondering if when my site uploads an image it does something that stops smugmug from seeing it. It is still a jpeg so should work....

PLEASE help. any advice would be fantastic.

ed

I wrote the the heroes and they said it was a complicated customization and that i need to post it here in dgrin.

I am not the web designer for the other website so don't know anything more than what i wrote in the PM. I have the image that was uploaded via the other website. Could i send that to you and maybe you will know why from that?
I am a bit of a novice when it comes to development (as you can tell).
    thanks andy

just tried uploading that image via the 'old faithful' uploader and it worked fine. its just the email is the problem

I'd first suggest that you email the image direct to your account from your own email account and program.

If that doesn't work, then you can focus on figuring out how to get that to work first. It could be you have an issue with the email upload password, that you aren't emailing to the right address, that the photo won't come through in email, etc... Until you can get a single email sent directly to your Smugmug account to work, there's no point in troubleshooting emails through a 3rd party service.

If that works, then the problem is entirely in the web service that is doing the emailing and you will need to contact them to make sure they are configured properly.

    certain images wont upload. why?
Ok so I have been trying to find out why specific images arnt accepted by email.
images sent from my email are fine, but images that were collected via an online upload are not. people upload them then i email them to smugmug, only they never appear.

so to make it clear, my email uploads is working i am using the correct email address and password.
here is one image that never shows up. please take a look.
any ideas why this image isnt accepted.
on upload image is automatically made into 96dpi.

(the image was accepted however buy 'the olde faithful' uploader)

I can email the original file. maybe you will need to see it in its original form befor smugmug does its thing with it.
