I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

WOW - Great Eyes!
I made my starting post on this thread on 6/15/2005. I have not been visiting here for the last couple of months due to a variety of factors. I was amazed to see that this thread had another round of activity in October 2006. I enjoyed all the recent contributions, the quality is to me - excellent. Thank you all for the wonderful shots. This is a great place to share.
My cat Katie. These were the first shots I took my my Nikon D50 this past spring.
This a frog that live in the "pond" in out front yard.
Here's my eye a few days after I fell and got a "black" eye. I was trying to open it wide so it's a little strange looking.
And this one is again my eye, but photoshopped -
^^That one is a poor res. version of the original edit. It was desaturated with a mask over the irises and then screen filtered. I wish I had the original, but it was lost on my old computer when it died a few years ago. I would try to edit it with curves or contrast, but I'm at work and just searched out the picture which I posted on a different forum a while ago.
I love the tone of the image. So many b+w images seem flat and muddled shades of grey. Very sharp. That said,I wonder if her eyes aren't just a tad too white. As if in PS they are 255 and they need to be 240-245, maybe less, but only if the overall image isn't altered significantly. Definitely worth hanging on the wall!

This is of my son last spring (he's now 2). I just love the expression in his eyes. He's such a adventurer.

I don't like the colouring too much.....but I just love her eyes.
C&C Welcome
This is a model that I shoot for her own website. I just love the colour of her eyes and I think it works well with the B&W of the photo.
