Lightroom-Include Develop Settings?

I'm setting up my preferences in LIghtroom 2.

What impact does it have either way, if I click on "Include Develop Settings in Metatada inside image files?" This preference is found in Catalog Settings - (Metadata)-

Wasn't sure if I wanted this "clicked" or not when setting up preferences. No mention of it in Scott Kelby's book.

"Include Develop settings in metadata inside JPEG TIFF and PSD files::
You'd want that on if you wanted to edit those images in Camera Raw so the instructions are accessible to that product. These are only for rendered images (TIFF, JPEG etc).
