I uploaded a few thousand pictures yesterday and it did seem sluggish to load the thumbs, but after a few minutes it was just fine.

I have been having problems with loading times on smugmug too. It has been happening over the past few days, the issues have been sporadic and seem to happen randomly.

JonMikal and ghostrider, can you give us more information? What browsers you're using, Mac or PC, etc?

Then if you could clear your cache and restart your browsers, seeing if that will get things to work first.

If not, a speed test would be great, if you can:

Just click the Yellow San Jose star and get back to us with your results.

It has only happened sporadically. Clearing cache and even changing browsers makes no difference. When it does happen some pictures in certain sizes will load but others will not. Embedded photos in forums seem to work fine. I am using Firefox 3.5 on windows 7. Speedtest results are located below.

I am using Firefox 3.5 on windows 7.
We do our best to be ready for upcoming releases, but please remember that you are on a beta browser and a beta OS.

That being said, we would love to get more specific information if it happens again. Can you shoot us an email with a specific page or photo next time?

Thanks, I will send a detailed report if it occurs again. Also the issue was occuring on a win xp machine I have using firefox 3.0 as well as an Iphone so I do not think it is a browser issue.

I have been wondering as well whether there was something going on in the last week or so... It seems like more often than in the past, when a page loads, the thumbnails are loading relatively slowly. Out of 15, maybe 10-12 will load right away, and then the remainder will take a few seconds. I don't remember seeing this behavior very often before. This is happening on several different machines with different browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox). Maybe I am just imagining things, but since others are noting similar behavior I thought I would mention it. It isn't very consistent.

Sometimes I have the same issue lately. For me, the thumbs just don't load period, unless I refresh the page.

Can you try clearing your firefox cache?

To clear your cache in Firefox on Windows, click on "Tools". Then select "Clear Private Data..." There will be a new window pop up. Make sure that the Cache check box is checked and click on the "Clear Private Data Now" button.

Thanks Andy. I'll give it a try. Seems to make sense though, as I was going through all the pictures in my galleries to check and see if they all uploaded correctly.

I've been having the same problems myself. Thunbs slow to load. Not all thumbs load. Big picture will not display. Cache has been cleared. Happens on all 4 PC's here and at my mothers house using different providers. ne_nau.gif

I have a problem with images not showing up at present, but I'm presuming it's just a processing backlog.

I was having tremendously slow page, thumb and main photo loads. Cleared
cache and cookies. Now seems to be faster. The memory usage for FF3 was
    up over 500k.

But in a keyword gallery clicking next page (bottom nav) brings up only main
photo on left and page number reads 1 of 0. Refreshing corrects the page. I
noticed this a few times last night and it just did it again even after clearing
    everything.

Last night I eventually got a very low resource warning so rebooted.
Something's not playing well between FF, java and Smug. I have latest of
each. This has happen often after using the tools menu items and/or simple
uploader. Something is not letting go of memory and it climbs and browsing
Smug comes to a virtual stop. Restarting clears it,

    slow as hell....
uploaded pictures about 1hr ago... still says "processing". Seems like every time I need to upload stuff, there are always issues. I have cleared my cache, tried with both FF3 and IE7.... Disappointing ne_nau.gif

Sorry for the long processing time. :( It looks like our upload queue got backed up. Our CEO is looking into the issue now...

Yeah...I've just uploaded a bunch of photos (around 100 or so) and I'm just getting "processing image" on the thumbs and photos. Should I assume this is the same problem?

Yes, and the images will process, don't upload anew, as this will cause further delay :D

The queue is dropping, all images will process. Hang in there. I uploaded stuff 15 mins ago and they're processed fine.
