D90 Help - Controlling File number

I have a Nikon D90 and would like to change the way it names (numbers) images. Is this possible?

I swap SD cards frequently and would like to better control the numbering. My goal would be to avoid the camera reseting the file number to zero with each new card etc.

TIA

I had a similar frustration with my dad's D90, and just read the fix on some forum the other day. It's under the "Custom Settings" menu under "Shooting/Display" The setting is called "File Number Sequence" and you'll want to turn it to "On".

The setting on the menu you need:
    ZZ_0158.jpg

    Best of luck!

Also note that if you choose to stay in the D90's default color space (sRGB) it will use the naming convention DSC_XXXX.XXX. If you choose AdobeRGB instead it will name files as _DSCXXXX.XXX.
That really threw me for awhile.
