Thanks Brian. I wound up going to manual focus and doing a field of focus to try and catch the be leaving or entering the flower. I should have bumped my ISO so I could run a faster SS but it was a spur of the moment capture.

I think the shutter speed is fine on these, especially the second one. It's an active bee, and you can see it in the wings. Looks good to me.

i was trying to capture some bees in flight a couple of weeks ago, they are fast!
but i see you have succeeded where i have failed

i too think the shutter speed is sufficient!

Swwwwwweeeeeeet!!! Not a lot of people are successful capturing Bees in flight, they are sooooo not easy to do.

You've made it look easy, congratulations, two great shots
