Thanks for the comments everyone. Having been on vacation, I was working off of the laptop and we all know how well that goes. Here's the reworked version. Still need a title too.
It is a nice work, but looking at your entries in the past 2 rounds, I guess I have raised my expectations for your work. I feel like you are capable of having a much stronger entry. I understand that you are on a vacation, so I'd say it is a very good work for somebody who had to do this on his laptop
Nice work on editing out the grass, and now that I see it, I do like that little bit of grass on the circle, it gives it character for sure and it somehow even works to ground the composition..
However,,, I am not liking the coloration on this contrast boost.. I don't like the way the reds and blacks bleed together with all of the fat grain..
I would take it back into PS and go to "selective color" and on the red channel, take out some yellow and some black.. play with different channels and see what it gives you maybe..
My best advice anyways... other than that it is looking good with the clean up..
P.S.........> Looks like Allen is pushing you... ha ha.. your own fault for setting that bar so high with your recent work.thumb.. I have to agree...
It was amazing work...
I have to agree with Allen, but I completely understand you're on vacation. My laptop (an old one) would take 10 minutes just opening a photo. So sweet job. I really like what you did on the 2nd rework. Really nice composition! I might have to agree with Kat about toning down just a smig but other than that a really nice entry!
What? Me laugh at someone? Never. But I'll laugh WITH you all you want. I'll only laugh at myself, which I do pretty much all day long.
Keep the comments coming. A second set of eyes never hurts.
Well then here is to a good laugh together.. :lol4cause that sure
was:haha funny...:D.. I just know you were wondering when I was gonna figure it out..
Well, gonna go check the rest of the thread and see what you have going on here lately.. thanks for the humor...

The composition is pleasing with very clean and measured out crops.
My only suggestions are to give it some contrast.. You could really achieve a strong effect with those black dividing lines..
I am undecided on the grass.. but definitely clone out the grass on the far upper right and on the left, they distract from the patterns.
Now the grass on the circle kind of gives it character so I would take a vote on that one.. I am not sure myself.. I kind of like it..
Also, clean up that weird blob on the lower left..
Already setting the bar high... nice work..

A square sewer cover, really? You don't usually see too many of those!
Agree with Kat on the benefits of more contrast for this image.
I meant a street cover... sorry for the missundarstanding
Here it is, but nothing that can compete with Kevin or be a contest photo - I just took a shot...
