Hello people!
I'm thought i would share my experience with the Canon power shot G10 and some accessories.
I do this because there isn't much out there on the net about this. If it is, there isn't much info in it. So I decided to write my own. It might not be that good. But i will write down what stuff i got not just " Canon g10 with wide angle converter "
I hope it will be usefulf for people out there that are in the same position that i was.. Does it work?
Anyways lets cut to it!
There are many adapters out there on the web, i got this one from ebay.
As you can see of the actual photo that the seller provides. The tube comes in 2 different parts. The only part you need is the one that goes on the camera. We can call this part for part
The other thing you need is the .45x lens itself. It is the same story here. Alot of different options is given to you. The one i tried is probably the cheapest since i dint know for sure that this would work. You can find it here
Note that there is a macro lens included with this kit. It must stay on the other lens to fit the 58mm tube. Without it the .45x lens wont fit.
So this is all you need..The total cost is about 30 dollars incl shipping.
So how is the image quality then? Well its better without the lens. But its better then i thought. For me and what i will be using this setup for. It is doing the job.
There will be some amount of dark corners as you can see on the images below.
So this is what it looks like.
Now this is a quick test photo just to show the difference. Note that both of them are shot from exact same position.
Stock
with the adapter.
Here is a video that i recorded with another G10 camera, just to show you guys how it looks and works...( hope that the youtube link is working )

It's a cool project to be sure. I was hoping that a G10 owner might chime in because I don't have the camera so I can't use this technique. It looks like a lot of fun for only a little money.
Then again, maybe all the G10 owners are just too busy purchasing and using the adapter and lens ...
Thanks for your time and trouble researching and sharing. It "is" appreciated.
