    Great sharp lens thumb.gif
Used for low light conditions.. and portraits
On the crop bodies (75mm) I tend to use my 85mm F1.8 more often. Cant wait to pick up the new 35mm f1.8 in the near future....

idk about the Nikon 50 1.8 but the canon 50 1.8 is alright. Its relatively sharp, and is fast. Great for low light stuff. Its a good bang for your buck! Also from what I've seen it has the aperture settings on the lens... aka you could use it for a reverse macro setup!

Can't beat it for value, I don't use mine a huge amount, but at £50 you can't really complain.

I use mine quite often. For the money I don't think you can get better. It's a remarkably sharp lens. However there is one annoying problem with mine I haven't seen talked about much. When you stop-down beyond F11 mine causes a noticeable light circle in the center of the image. Years ago, before digital, I used Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 and f/1.4s all the time and never saw that problem. It could be my lens, could be the design, I don't know.

You can also try going to pbase.com and search for nikkor 50mm 1.8. Their search seems to be dead right now, but in the past I've found tons of links to specific lenses and cameras that way. Smugmug has lots of links too, but for some reason a lot more people seem to single out their lenses on pbase

Great lens. For the money there's really no reason not to get it unless you really need f/1.4. Here's a couple of portraits:
