Nicely done! It's awesome that you were able to include the entire rainbow in the last shot. thumb.gif
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.

I really like the sky in the first shot, Jet. Is that rain on the water in the foreground?

Impressive arc, the boat is distracting to me but does not take too much away from the shot, that is for sure.

That last shot is magnificent! Do you mind if I ask your set up, or PP techniques?

Thanks mate, yes it is. I thought about cropping it to more of a pano, but It didnt look quite right to me.

Thanks 2wistd. I kinda like the boat in the full arc shot but think it could have been framed better in the other one. Never mind

No problem - all of these were shot with a D200 and Sigma 10-20mm with a Kenko circular polariser.

PP consisted of cropping, a slight curves layer, and on one or two a little bit of high pass sharpening.

I'm limited in photoshop but I think these work well without any over the top processing.

    Excellent! Thanks for sharing.

I don't really care for HDRs, especially since the ones I mostly see posted are always of the over the top, out of this world, "look at what I can do in Photoshop" variety.

#1 is the most interesting for me, Jet.

I think this is a case where the Rule of Thirds could help. The image is not well balanced, as is. Either emphasise the sky or the water. The sky is delirious, so I would go that way.

The rain on the water I'm sure was fascinating live, but it doesn't come across successfully in the photo. A smooth surface would have worked better with the sky, I think. In fact, a longer exposure might have lifted this image to something more special.

    Thanks mate,

Yeah - I cant say I've managed to master the HDR. I think you are right in that many are over the top, but I think they have their time and place.

    Thanks for the crit Neil,
I agree that the photo would work a bit better had I composed it using a bit more sky. I don't think cropping now will help too much.

I don't mind the rain, and due to the circumstances I was shooting in, a longer exposure was impossible. We can always dream ne_nau.gif
