try shay's color fringe reducer originally designed to remove purple fringe and other ca from digital camera shots, i also use it for fine tuning little bits of color that bug me, just like the situation you are describing.
best $10 i *ever* spent

Yup. Sadly, Shay no longer has a website.
Photoshop has a built-in tool for fringing, and PTLens, an .8bf type plug-in, is available from epaperpress.com
Neither are specific purple fringe reducers AFAIK, but more made for CA correction.
There are actions out there for Photoshop that claim to reduce PF.
