This was shot Christmas week in the Winter Park/Fraser Valley of Colorado. Just prior to sunrise with lenticular clouds in the area (to camera left). The sun has not yet cleared the Front Range peaks (camera rear) and the entire sky goes this color. Shot at f/16, 1.6sec

The red in the foreground trees is natural. Many of the trees in the valley are dead due to pine beetles.

This image is about 20 minutes later as the sun rises over the eastern peaks. Shot at f/8, 1/40sec

Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR. I'm a newby at PP, images cropped and sharpened.

It is really amazing the difference in 20 minutes... Nice shots - both of them.

Absolutley beautiful shots! I think I still see a wire line at the very bottom of the 1st image. :D
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.

Thank you for the kind comments. Yes, I know about the wire! In the original frame there is a construction site and power lines, but I didn't want to lose the trees!
