Macro lens question

Hi, I am thinking of getting a Canon EF 100mm F2.8 Macro lens to go with my Canon EOS 450D. Any opinions - will it be money well spent?

It's a great lens for macro -- good focal length, easy to use, great image quality out of it. The first time I went out with mine, I could see the difference in clarity, sharpness, and color through the viewfinder of my old XT, even compared to the 50mm f/1.8 II. On top of that, it's a very good general purpose 100mm at normal distances.
