Awesome Customer Service From Maha / Powerex

I wanted to pass along some awesome, proactive customer service that I got from Maha / Powerex / Thomas Distributing.

I only use LaCrosse and Powerex/Maha for my speedlight batteries and chargers. I recently decided to add more Powerex/Maha to my bag and bought a Maha MH-C800S charger - after a few charges, the LCD started acting weird / random. It was probably still charging correctly but I was frustrated that the screen wasn't giving me clear feedback.

I sent an email to customer service at http://www.mahaenergy.com and quickly got a reply from Eric at Maha.

He was extremely helpful and after clarifying a few things, he shipped me a brand new C800S with an RMA and pre-paid shipping label for me to send mine back.

I thought that was very cool! They could have easily given me a documentation run-around or asked me to send mine back for a repair or examination, but they really minimized my potential down time by what they did.

I always appreciate great customer service; and as much as we all seem to love these batteries and chargers I'm really glad their customer service seems to be on the same level.

Just passing that on..... :thumb

It seems like a rare occasion to hear about great customer service anymore. A lot of company's would rather give you the run around instead of fixing the problem. Thanks for the info. I was curious about the Powerex batteries. I've never tried them & was wondering if you liked them better than the enloops ?

I have only used the LaCrosse and Powerex rechargeables and I like them both. I do notice a slightly faster recycle time with the Powerex's though - and have gone entire events with hundreds of flash shots not needing to replace them; pretty impressive!

i have some powerex batteries and they work very well when charged

    ... http://www.mahaenergy.com/store/viewitem.asp?idproduct=415

    my only gripe...
if you don't use them as soon as you charge them they loose their charge

it looks like they have some new batteries that will hold a charge for a long time...
    but lower mAh...2100 vs 2700

these two chargers are the best i have found though

i would also recommend a small fan to cool off your batteries while charging.
