i am trying to decide what package to buy and use for SmugMug and cannot find anywhere a list of what one offers versus the other, etc. Can someone please direct me to a site that details out the benefits of a basic account or power account vs pro account, etc.
Thanks so much!!

I believe that right now only pro users can order from bay photo. The way it's currently set up, you specify the lab as part of your pricing which is only for pro users. I gather that Smugmug is considering extending bay photo to other types of users, but it's not there now.

btw, do you know of any sites that have links of examples of each type of account.... actually user pages that customers have set up? it would be nice to see exactly what can be done with each package instead of just reading a list and not really knowing exactly the differences visually.

thanks for your help, once again!! thumb.gif

Customizing is no different for power vs. pro so there's no difference to see. Standard has no customizing other than picking a theme.

It's usually really a pretty simple choice:
    • If you want to sell your images at a profit, then choose Pro.
    • If you want to do video, then choose at least power. If you want to do HD video, then choose Pro.
    • If you want to customize your site or use your own domain, then standard is out so choose power.
    • If none of these apply, then choose standard.

i saw those. thanks. the only thing i had wanted to see was the difference in customization, but I guess power and pro allow the same and standard is basically standard. before i knew that, i had no way to tell what plan each site had, which is why i started this thread.
thanks so much for your help!
    have a great day!

If you want a pro account and sell for profit, do all of your prices for every gallery have to be the same? Say you shoot a wedding versus candid shots and put the prices up for the wedding pics. Does that price list carry over to any shots you sell then or can you adjust it per gallery, etc.?

Pricing can be set at a portfolio, gallery, or photo level. If you set it at a portfolio level it can be overridden for a specific gallery.
