I Really Need A Longer Lens

Taken this AM......Doe and Fawn in Wheat......cropped off approx 2/3......dang I need a longer lens...200mm just don't cut it.............SOOC except for crop and save for the web.

    I deal with it every day too. I do have the 300f4, and use a teleconverter on it 90% of the time, for a whopping 420mm, and it's still too short.
    Handy for local stuff though.

    It's sort of a trade off. The people I shoot with with extreme long lenses don't get the closer shots I do, but I don't get the distance shots either.
    A zoom would be nice. I can't and don't want to lug around 2 heavy lenses and a tripod too! Lots to think about. Good luck.

    Maybe just a marine sniper over sized GHILLE suit.......and I could just sneak up on them....:D:D
