Shopping Cart navigation

I just noticed something that is not very user friendly in the shopping cart you might want to look at.

If you are in a gallery and click on VIEW CART and your cart is empty you are left stranded with no way to navigate back to the gallery you were viewing other than using the browsers back button. If you click HOME from here you go to SM home page. This could leave potential customers 'lost'.

Now I realize there is not much reason to view the cart if you have not made a purchase but the button is right there and easy to do.

At least that is the way it is here when done from here...

Hm, try this, Monte?

There is a setting in IE that disabled some images:

Tools > Options > Security > Custom Level

Binary and Script Behaviors: Disabled

That turns them off (along with other ActiveX things) - enabling that
will turn them back on.

Tried that, no difference, works fine in FF. Might be an IE8 thing?

Not a big problem to worry about if it is only me.

if you go straight to the cart while logged out (like typing in secure.smugmug.com/cart into the address bar) you don't get the button.....since we don't know where you came from.

Ahh, it looks like this behavior (missing button) is triggered if the HTTP referrer is blocked. Montec, is your browser (or security software), by any chance configured to block the transmission of the HTTP referrer?

What browser do you use? What add-ins to that browser do you have? What security software are you running? If you go to this page from this link (which will tell you what referrer it gets), what does the page say?

I am running IE8, AVG Anti-Virus and Windows Vista firewall.

Hm. I was just able to replicate, I'll see if it's a bug or an IE limitation.
