Look into sharing a studio with another photographer or artist. I recently attended a very DIY fashion show in a street next to a building. Turned out the building was full of rental studios full of clothing designers, photographers, and dance troupes-- almost all of them were sharing space and they all got together to put on the fashion show and give a tour of their studio space.

That is a great idea. There are tons of these types of studios here in northern Ca. The few that I have been to allow the artist/photographer a certain amount of work space and additional space for showcasing their work.

:ivar I have been sharing a studio for about 2 years now after having my own for many years. It has worked out really well. Try to find someone that you can trust, that you wouldn't mind referring business to, that wouldn't necessarlily be too much competition and that might be trusted to share the bills on time. I would start with having a compilation of the bills paid in advance.
