Nude Back (18+)

I took this photo a few months ago and thought I'd give it another shot in post. The original was extremely underexposed so I wanted to see what I could do with it. I upped the exposure in LR, desaturated a bit and did some sharpening. There seems to be a little noise, likely from upping the exposure so much, but I guess I don't mind since the shot was largely salvaged.

Enjoy!

In black and white, the noise would look more like film grain.

I like the warmth. Maybe some type of a texture dropped over it?

I thought that too but really disliked my BW conversion. I'll post it up and let you folks be the judge I suppose. Thanks for the advice!

Hmm... can you give me an example of what you're referring to? Thanks!

As promised, here is the BW version. I, personally, am more fond of the color version but that's likely just a personal choice. I do like that, in the BW version, the noise appears less unintentional.

    Thanks for looking!

I hope I didn't put the BW version up for nothing. Anymore comments? bowdown.gif

Sorry, my child walked in as I was about to comment. I wouldn't mind her seeing this shot, but she'd be appalled!

Anyway, I love the black and white. Yes, the warmth in the color version is nice, but it feels more subtle and therefore stronger to me in black and white. Of course, I tend to prefer nudes in black and white.

Thank you much, Caroline. I'm going to have to put these two images on the shelf for a while, I think, and revisit them after my first (2nd) impressions have gone away. I do enjoy the color version but I've had a few others say they liked the BW as well.

    Thanks for the comments!

I would say i like this type of shot in B&W but the color version is perfect I think. No tan lines, even color all throughout... My .02c thumb.gif
