I did a moderately strenuously hike this weekend, but the journey and destination were both beautiful. I lugged both my Sony a-900 and Olympus e-620 systems with me...I doubt I'll do that again! :D I hope you enjoy these shots.

I continue to be impressed by your photos! Where are these taken? Your first pic reminds me of destinations that I used to love to backpack to.

I enjoy the shots very much. The first two are my favorites and that second makes me think I am looking at a NASA photo!

Sweet! And don't wimp out man, I carried a 40 lb. bag all around Rainier last year so that I could do landscapes and wildlife both lol3.gif

Favorites are the first two, wonderful warm light on each of them. Is it hiking season already? Wow.

Thanks, rainbow! These were taken on the way to and at Lake Colchuck, as Steve has already figured out. :D

Thanks, Steve! Right you are...Lake Colchuck and Dragontail. :D

The 2nd shot is a double exposure. I couldn't get the exposure "perfect" on both the moon and the mountains with a single shot.

Thanks, Ron! Wow! 40lbs!? I'm impressed. I really do feel like a wimp now. I was carrying at most 30 lbs. It's back to the gym for me. :D

Thank you, everyone! If ever you get the chance to visit this wonderful area, a "struggle" up to Lake Colchuck is well worth every drop of sweat, IMO. Even if you don't make it here, find a trail near you and take a hike!

Very impressive! And you obviously had great weather to go with a great locale. What was your process for creating the double exposure?

If Marc offers the Sierras Workshop again, try that. It's a treat to travel with your stuff carried by mule thumb.gif

You've got some nice pictures. My favorite would have to be the star trail.

Thanks, Dale! I took one exposure for the mountains and then another for the moon and them combined them manually in PS.
