From my morning walk

This morning's walk was in Snyder's Flats outside of Waterloo, Ontario.
1. I was following these around for a bit and got very lucky with my timing regarding the bird and the puddle.
2. My favourite osprey and I got in a staring contest this morning. Sadly, it chose not to fly for me this morning. Perhaps I will be luckier tomorrow.
3. While watching my osprey (I use the word "my" loosely *grin*) I noticed this bird almost hovering over the long grass feeding off of insects.
4. I almost stepped on this faded old butterfly as I moved down a trail towards the shore of the pond.
5. This has a good story. I was walking down the trail and heard a rustle off to the side. I saw a deer heading away from me, back in the direction I had come from. I turned and followed it carefully, keeping to the trail. It would, I reasoned, either hide or cross in front of me as it was between me and the water. I knew it could not or would not go back too far since I had just passed someone fishing on the shore of the pond. When it stopped, we stared at each other for a few minutes and he let me take some pictures.
