I must say that DGrin has played a significant role in my decision to become ceritified. The great folks here who take the time to provide constructive feedback and guidance is a true blessing. This is really a wonderful resource and community.

Hackbone: Thank you. Yes it was a LOT of long nights compressed into 7 weeks.

    Sandy: Thanks!

Marjohn: Thank you. I am definitely trying to do that every time out! :)

Shannon: Thanks and finally know your name now lol....isn't that a song...hmmm.

    Richard: Thanks!

Awias: Thank you and it is time for a drink...or 2...or a bottle lol.

Hi Art. It is PPA/CPP. And thanks! The final stamp will be after my image review but from initial reviews from those in the process, indications are that there aren't any issues.

Congratulations for what must be quite an accomplishment!

I confess ignorance as to what your certification is. Can you explain to me (and perhaps others) what it entailed for you? What hoops did you have to jump through and how will this be used by you professionally?

I saw your initial thread where you passed the "CPP" and I was clueless. I would appreciate it if you can give a little story of what you went through.

Thanks in advance if you reply to this.

    Hi rainbow.

The Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) certification is one of the most common professional credentials for photographers along with M. Photog. The process is pretty intense and comprises both a written exam and an image review. The written exam consist of 100 question test that you need to complete within the time frame given. The image review is a bit complicated and is probably easier to understand the breakdown by going to the website below where you can find all of the details for this certification and other merits. My approach was, from what I understand, not the norm. I found out about the certification process 1 week after my wife gave birth to our 3rd child. I decided to take the test and after researching the process, realized that I only had about 6 weeks to prepare for the exam. I ran out and purchased the recommended study material and began sitting up every night reading while my wife tended to our new little one's needs. I was quite nervous about my chances of passing the first time, especially since it just happen to work out that a veteran photographer was re-testing on the same day that I took my test after failing 4 months prior. Fortunately I was able to pass and am now waiting for my image review to take place. They only do the reviews once a quarter so it can take some time to get the certification but I think it's worth it.

    Certification Site:

    Hope this helps.
