Great shots, Clay! The 3rd is my favorite, followed by the 1st and 2nd. What wonderful light and atmospheric fog you captured! thumb.gif
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.

I'm with the guy above. Love number one; curious whether you did some HDR processing there to capture that effect. Thanks for sharing!

ya i hdr'd it, because regular exposures just werent working, due to the fact that i was shooting into the sun, even if it was just sunrise, it was still pretty bright, and i wasnt getting any details....and I couldnt find a comfortable median using my split nd filter, and i was running out of time (i was literally watching it rise), so i said screw it and took 3 sets of 3 bracketed pictures.

Coolthumb.gif I am a big HDR fan. Many here do not like the over processed look of HDR, and feel that it is very unnatural. You certainly can make HDRs look very natural, but I often (not always) prefer that unnatural over processed look.

thank you, that is a very big compliment, since I too hate over processed HDR photos. SO i try to make my HDR photos look as "natural" as I can..well as natural as an HDR photo can look.

The third shot is just fantastic! Excellent black and white conversion and the composition works perfectly.

The first one would also be pretty nice but it looks too artificial to me. The area around the sun just doesn't look right and there is a lot of haloing just above the trees on both sides of the road. In addition to this it looks over-sharpened. I tihnk it would really be worth going back and reworking this shot because it has lots of potential in my opinion.
