or prarrie dogs if you like :rofl

Went to Wichita WMA today with Jerryk and his wife and spent from 10am to 7pm hiking the back country and shooting. Our very first stop was a large prarrie dog town out in the plains.

Heres the first three processed shots (out of 362 shots total lol!) They are for the most part, straight from the camera, just resized and sharpened a bit...

It was an absolutely beautiful day.. and most of the refuge is in full bloom still :clap

The above shot was taken with my 1.7 tele.. they were about 12-15 feet away. These next two shots were taken without the tele!!! from about 3 feet away lol

They really seem to like eating the flowers

But they are smart enough to know that sometimes its best if you stop and smell the flowers instead :D

Aint that the cutest thing ever?

:rofl

Hi Dani, I remember last time we were in Oklahoma in the Pan Handle (Guymon) area there were heaps of Prairie Dogs around.

They sure go in and out of those holes pretty darn quick don't they.
So do they eat the flowers ????
Nicely captured Dani.........thanks for sharing....... Skippy (Australia)

    Thanks Everyone!!!

It was just that one dog that let me get close... Looked to be an older/wise dog so he prolly knew I wouldn't hurt him. Let me take a few shots before he'd had enough and moved on. Most of the time he was too busy stuffing his face to care Laughing.gifrolleyes1.gif

Skippy, yup...they eat the flowers sometimes! mostly they like the grasses though.
