customizing layout of gallery

specifically thumbnails - i'd like to be able to make the thumbnails smaller & the main photo bigger to emphasize the currently selected photo. right now, it's split about 50/50 (thumbnails/main photo). I like the smugmug layout, so for that layout (in a pro account), is it possible to either:

A. make the thumbnails smaller (ie, so if it fits 16 thumbnails right now, it would be able to fit 24 instead)
B. make the main photo section bigger (ie, if 1/2 the real estate is taken up by the main photo & 1/2 by the thumbnails, make 2/3 taken up by the main photo & 1/3 taken up by the thumbnails).

Thanks!

SmugMug style is stretchy. That means that the use of the space is dictated by the size of the browser window. It will fit the largest image on the right that is possible, and use a thumb size / number of columns that will fit based on the photo on the right. Open your smugmug-style gallery and then stretch and shrink the browser window to see the changes.

This is not customizable in Smugmug. The main photo is made as large as possible given your screen size and the ability to fit both a portrait and landscape image on screen without scrolling. Then, thumbs are filled in to the rest of the space. If your main image is smaller than you want, it is often because you don't have enough space vertically for the portrait orientation image.

You didn't post a link to your site so we can see your existing customizations, but this can be caused by a large header or lots of browser toolbars.

It looks like it's working as designed. The height of your banner may be preventing a larger size at some window sizes.

Here's what I see. In the first, you can see that there really is no more room for a larger main image. If it was made larger, then it would need vertical scrolling. In the second image, you can see the same thing with a portrait oriented image.
