The Eagles' Lair

Here's a shot of the place where I've been making my eagle captures this year. Not a bad place to hang around while you're waiting for something to happen. If you look closely you can see an eagle in the top of a tree right in the middle of the island. In case you can't see that one I added a couple of shots with a few more pixels of eagle :D

Heck I haven't even seen any here in the north bay to get a picture of. Superb shots. Looks like a great place to hang out and shoot.

Thanks for the comments. That rainbow was really fitting. We really had the eagle action that day. If I could have just gotten one of them to fly across the rainbow, now that would have been prime mwink.gif

I like "Glide Path". That is really a unique perspective shot. I haven't seen one quite like that before. Neat. thumb.gifthumb

All three shots are fantastic. Not a bad little spot you found! I really like the background in the third shot, something different.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Bud, I kinda like "Glide Path" too. Provides some habitat context to the local that the birds were photographed in. My wife didn't like that one. She said it looked like 3d. To which I replied... BINGO thumb.gif

Thanks, Ron. With eagles becoming more common (and more accessible) in the lower 48, I've been trying to do something unique. The only major difference I can really come up with is background. I make all of my captures out on Prince William Sound which is itself fairly unique. Of course I'll take whatever presents itself at the moment. But what I'm really after is those shots with something a little different... headscratch.gif

    Awesome stuff!

We only have a handful of eagles in our area so getting close to them is a challenge. Your photos are the types of photos I wish I could take.

Man, those first two shots are mind-blowers! Great work! thumb.gifthumb

I really appreciate "glide path" as well. Although, I do kinda wish it was shot over water or had more bokeh.

    Cheers,

Wow, I don't know how I missed these. They are incredible Dan bowdown.gifbowdown.gif That rainbow shot is the best I've ever seen, and the glide path shot is outstanding.

I never thought a landscape shot would outdo an eagle shot, but wow, that first one is incredible!

Thanks, folks. Never successfully captured a rainbow before this. I was happy that it came out fairly well. Hopefully I'll get another shot at the eagles before the end of the season...

I thought it was you from a few weeks ago that I commented on how a picture had a 3D effect. I dug back and sure enough. :Dhttp://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=131940&highlight=eagles

    I think it's pretty cool.
