IR Bug Shot

Around Central Texas there are scads of walking sticks. This one is a juvenile, about 4" long. I've seen them a foot long.

I thought I'd have some fun so I shot it in IR on a modified Sony F828.

    Thats a cool shot Jules. I tried to hatch some walking sticks this year. Worked once before. No luck this year. They are really great to watch and photograph! Friendly little guys. I read they mate for life and I did see pairs of them here a few years back when I bought a hatched nest at the hardware store. They eat aphids so good to have in the garden.

    It really was a quick snap as these critters are pretty frisky. I was lucky.
