Falling Up
Hmmm, what to do when you drop your 5d with your 16-35 L II and ... break both at the same time. Sure, I did that right off but then I calmed down. Well, the lens with its mounting ring completely snapped off may be fixable, the camera is not worth it. That was two days ago. I grabbed an old rangefinder without a working light meter and ran up to the store and bought a faded box of cheap Kodak film sitting in the sun, 24 exposures. Processing and poor scans courtesy of Walmart.
Shooting film with a little rangefinder with no light meter was, well, it had been a long time ... and I loved it. I was on the hunt with no idea if I was exposing properly, had only 24 frames, and it all just pushed me forward to make every moment count.
Oh, and I never once tried to look at the back of the camera ;-))
I left prints hanging in tree by the river bank, they'll find them today.
