Map help needed

Hi Folks -
I need a bit of 'hand-holding' about the map. I don't think I have a particular setting right, or it doesn't do what I expected.

I would like the map to appear on my homepage, with the markers indicating where I have corresponding photos. A family member can click on the Rochester, NY marker and see all the photos that were taken in Rochester NY, regardless of when, and regardless of what gallery or category they are.

Just like, if someone clicks on a specific timeframe in timeline.

I know that I have an image with geo information.

And, the map shows a marker for the correct, corresponding location.

HOWEVER - when I click on the marker, it says there are no photos.

My photos are not for public viewing - just for family - so I think I have some setting turned off that needs to be on, or vice versa.

Or, is the map only for public-style galleries??

Yes, maps are for public galleries only.

ahh - so the maps are not useful for private family galleries.... too bad :cry

I don't think a link would be helpful - I want my gallery to be private.
