So these are not People pictures - they are cat pictures. But...and there is a point here...I ofter them to show how you can produce something from nothing. A project with a 16-year-old cat as its subject? Well isn't that special, as Church Lady would say. Actually, I would suggest that this is the ultimate example of what Susan Meiselas, known for her photography of the Sandanistas and Carnival Strippers means when she says we should always remember - "Far away is not a place." Which is to say that the interesting subject for a project may be right in our, uh lap. And with that introduction...Heeeeerrrrsss, Fluff The Cat - The Mayor of Monmouth Street.

    What a wonderful series. And you are right. The pictures tell a lot about the neighborhood and some of those who live there.
