The Adventures of "The Coupe De Lou"
This is a recent trip with my kids , 19 and 16 to bring my father's Cadillac Deville from Punta Gorda Florida to Massachusetts. My father passed away in April and wanted me to have his car. I'm sure he was with us on this trip making sure we took good care of "The Coupe De Lou"
This is the adventures of "The Coupe De Lou" from his home in Punta Gorda Florida to his new home in Massachusetts.

Here is "The Coupe De Louuuu" where it has been sitting for the last 6 months. I wounder if it would start. Put the key in turned it on and the 300 horse power V8 Northstar engine came to life ! More about the 300HP later.
Out for the first ride. The Coupe De Lou hasn't been moved for about 6 months.
But first a little Mexican food.
This is our favorite tree in Punta Gorda. It is a Banyon tree and Tyler and Cody have been climbing around this since they were little.
Trying to cool off in 92 degree water.
Yep that's hot all day.
This car FLYS !!! 300HP V8 I have to keep it on cruse control or I get up to over 90mph without knowing it. I don't know how they do it but there is NO, NONE, NADA wind noise when you are driving. I'm liking this car.
We are here !!! The East Bay Inn in the old historic part of town.
Fun town lots to do there. We did the Ghosts and Gravestones tour. It actually was very good.
The Coupe De Lou cruising Savannah.
At the Pirate House, a famous old , historic place. Coupe De Lou wasn't too impressed.
On our way out of Savannah there was this farm stand with fresh Georgia peaches !! How could we resist.

We decided to take the highway to Raleigh so we would have time to hang out with Danni, Barb's daughter at North Carolina State University. On the way there were lots of fun places to visit. Fireworks places everywhere.
Good thing they had this sign. The guyz and me were just about to light up !
Ok guess who took this photo.
Amazing amount of fireworks.
IT WAS THE BATTERY !
We called AAA and the dude was there pretty quick. He jumped it, started right up. He put a gizmo on it to test it and found that it had a bad cell. Then he tells me he doesn't have the correct battery and we shouldn't shut it off till we get home. I said "did you notice we are from Massachusetts ?
But as luck, or was it, would have it there was a Cadillac dealer 2 miles from here. We followed him to the dealer and had the battery replaced, handed over $255 dollars to the smiling service guy and were on our way 3 hrs later.
Come to find out it is some kind of special battery that need to lay on it's side and is under the rear seat. Oh well it should last a while now.
We were on back roads, 2 lanes, farms, horses no trucks and very few cars. Great drive.
Redneck golf cart
We stopped for gas and drinks.
We are in Virginia
Ye haw
We drove on roads like this all day !!!
We stopped in Lynchberg at the Corner Cafe for lunch.
Great road food.
The Coupe De Lou loves the mountains. He has spent his life in boring flat Florida and is lovin the twistys and hills.
We started the Skyline Drive today.
Beautiful road. great scenery, lots of deer and black bears.
The Smokey Mountains, Blue Ridge sure live up to their name.
We were trying to get some magnetic flames to put on the side of the Coupe De Lou also some fuzzy dice but all we could find was this steering wheel cover.
The deer were everywhere. Not shy at all.
This is Deep Hollow Falls. A short hike from the road.
Hey Look who we ran into on the Skyline Drive !!!
The Wardners.
How cool is that. They are on their way to Florida. Eric and Cody were texting each other all day and we were able to meet up with them.
Have a great trip Wardners!!!
More amazing scenery.
Tyler driving The Coupe De Lou
Cody hangin' in the back yard.
We got off the Skyline Drive and went to Luray Caverns.
Last time I was here was when I was in High School.
It is spectacular to say the least.
