'cause you don't get shots like this from boys

1.

This girl's been watching "America's Next Top Model" and knows to turn her face toward the light.

2.

I was shooting the runner, but I kind of like the umpire and third base player's matching poses.

3.

Normally, I would hope to get more of the batter's face, but this girl makes a very unattractive face when she bats.

Second base flex - Required move if you hit a double.

My kid - alas, watching the runner instead of the ball. She did get the throw to 2nd and the 3rd out of the inning.

These were shot in full sunlight on the 4th of July at 1:00 p.m.
The team is a rec league slowpitch junior high All Star team.
I shot with a Canon EOS D40, f4.0, ISO 200, 70-200 mm lens.

C&C welcome and appreciated.

Thanks-

These old eyes would not have minded a bit larger pics, but overall these are pretty nice...

The reason guys don't have pics like that is the socks... everything else is the same! rolleyes1.gif

I particularly like the "mirror-imaging" between the ump and the 3rd baseman in #3.

I just shot a fastpitch tournament a little over a week ago and will be doing another 4-day tournament next week.

Tim and Kent-Thanks for looking and commenting. I admire both of your work. I thought the simultaneous skip and hug was great, but the socks definitely put her over the top.

Rookieshooter-I assume you mean funny (strange) not funny (ha-ha). I am the mom of one of the players, so I will be more careful with my title next time. I'm glad Tim (also the parent of a daughter) got the reference.

Glad to get the assist! The choreography was off just a bit on the ump and 3rd baseman, would have been great to have a view of the runner!

BTW, proud dad of 2 young ladies..... and 2 young men!

I was shooting through the fence on that one, and I really haven't got that figured out. If I'm not pointing at the right spot ahead of time, I can't seem to adjust and deal with the fence. Any words of wisdom?

Tough to stand back an make the fence disappear, the 300 2.8 does a real nice job at that. The 70-200 just needs a nice hole in the fence, or a ladder for you to stand on.

or permission from the coach to sit on the bench or in the dugout.

    Works even better for hockey.
