OK, last time I posted I was having trouble showing slide shows. So I went back and undid what I had done with godaddy and did it all over. I followed the directions that smugmug gave for using my own domain and now three days later I still don't have my site recognizing my domaun at all. Please help, I just shot a wedding on Saturday, passed out 250 business cards with info on how to purchase photos from my site. If I don't get it to reconize my domain I am sunk. Thanks...Dean

In fact, their support of CNAME records is very good once you find it on their site. Here's how to do it:

Thanks Anton - I'll let Ben know, maybe he can get some new screen grabs.
Really appreciate it!

It seems they offer only forwarding and masking.
When i read the description of masking, it seems it is still forwarding, but then a forward is issued inside a <FRAME> or <IFRAME> (so that the main URL does not change....).. But i'm not sure about this..

Did they finally create one that actually is easy to use?
I will see about creating an account again to get newer screenshots and instructions.
(Also, make sure you have DNS servers hosted at GoDaddy. If you don't, then you can't control the DNS through them... which would make the link disappear)
My DNSs are PARK15.SECURESERVER.NET and PARK16.SECURESERVER.NET, their so-called 'Default Parked Nameservers'. Since i don't host with them, i cannot select their 'Default Hosting Nameservers'. This is the initial selection upon creation of the account (i did not update the DNS).
I sent a support question through e-mail to them about CNAMEs... Let's see what they reply with.

First login as usual.
Then:
• Select 'Manage Domains' from the 'Domain Names' menu near the top of the page ('Domain Names' --> 'Manage Domains')
• Click on the link that is the domain name that you wish to configure DNS entries for.
• Click the '+' next to 'Total DNS Control' from the menu that appears to the right of the list of domains (you may have to to scroll down to see it).
• Click the 'Total DNS Control And MX Records' link.
• Click the 'Launch Total DNS Control Manager' link.
• Create and/or edit the existing entries for your domain
I could not figure out the steps in bold. But i checked it and all the info is there. From there on, it is the same. It still basically the steps mentioned in http://www.smugmug.com/help/godaddy.mg. The page-layout is just different.
I must say, i got a very quick response from GoDaddy!
And i forgot: How do you add a CNAME record again that will make "mysite.com" work, and go to the same site as www.mysite.com?

I had the same problem trying to figure this out. You can't do it with CNAME as far as I can tell because it won't let you leave the alias blank. You have to create an A record that has 'yourdomain.com' pointing to smugmugs' IP. This works BUT if Smugmug changes IP for some reason you will get page not found errors. I did it this way and put my site in my favorites with both 'www' and without so I can just click on both every day to make sure it still works.
ps. Someone in another thread somewhere suggested forwarding your 'domain.com' to 'www.domain.com'. I tried this and it did not work. In IE I just got a dns error and it Firefox I got stuck in a loop and neither loaded.
My domain is streetsofboston.com.
When i do 'ping www.streetsofboston.com', i get a positive result.
When i do 'ping streetsofboston.com', i get a positive result.
When i do 'ping qqq.streetsofboston.com', i get a positive result.
Anything before streetsofboston.com seems to work... :
