Just got back from a Alaska vacation - Denali, Matanuska Glacier, Girdwood, Portage glacier, Seward, Kenai Fjords, Aialik Glacier, Hope (a small abandoned mining town)... Still working on getting all the pictures processed. Here are a few and the rest can be found on my website. C/C appreciated

Kenai Fjords

Whales off the Seward Coast - 5 of them showed up by the boat and just hung around for 10 minutes (which is an enternity). Blowing through their snouts, flapping their fins and doing small dives. Amazing scence

Porpoises
We had a batch of 10-12 porpoises show up who zigged-zagged around the boat

Of course the sea gulls..

Well done. Love the slideshow. Looks like your camera has a few dust bunnies, which are more obvious on some photos than others. The horizon in the whale shots is not level and that kinda bothers me. Overall, excellent effort.thumb.gif

Thanks for sharing ... brought back great memories of our trip to Alaska in 2001 ... before I was into photography. Must go back soon.

Glad you enjoyed Alaska! Although Hope is not exactly abandoned, people still live there!

You are absolutely right. There are about 200 people still in Hope. I think the lady who runs the small souvenir shop mentioned there are 13 kids who go to school (from Kindergarten to 12th grade) in the community.
