Howdy All-
I have been traveling for a while with work. A while ago there was the "Where in the world is Smuggy?" contest and I spray painted him/her/it on the side of my luggage:
In the past few months Smuggy has logged over 20K miles. What is interesting is how he travels; he typically comes out Smuggy side up, and on his "legs" he usually, he comes out on the belt so that he is smiling at everyone as he goes around the carousel/belt. This morning though after a 13 hour flight it was even better. I had to clear customs at Dulles Airport in Washington DC. It was a little bit of a slog to go through customs. So all of the luggage from my flight was piled up. You ever seen all the luggage from a 777? It is quite a pile.
They would not allow pictures in the area or else there would be a picture, of Smuggy sitting at the front of the pile right where I could see, almost like he was welcoming me. Even the Customs people commented on how that happened and said that the baggage handlers put him there special. So then as I checked him back in to my next flight, the baggage handler said thanks for the smile. Then he put my baggage on, and he put Smuggy toward the wall. He then said that is because on the receiving side Smuggy would be facing out. At 6AM this type of smile is a good thing!:clap
When I reached Chicago, yup Smuggy was there on the belt circling around smiling at everyone. A nice end to 22 hours of travel.
