So, I know I missed the mark on the flowers/hand... what else do you think? FYI: No cropping, no effects except a little contrast and BW.

I moved this from the WP, since the WP is for your best work, not work that you already know you have a problem with. Please refer to the rules, which are linked in my signature.

Also, the image isn't showing up, most likely due to external linking being turned off in the gallery settings.

    Megan,

We'd be happy to comment and help. If you need help with settings in your SmugMug gallery to allow us to view the image, just say the word.

Yes, it is showing nicely now.

It is unfortunate that the background was not a bit darker. The top of her head and the background seem to blend more than I would prefer.

Since her hands are already cut into I would suggest a much closer crop to make the image a head and shoulders format.

I like the general expression of this young lady.

Is this a little more what you would like to see? I opted to cut off more shoulder than hair... since it seems to me the interesting part of this picture is the wind in her hair. As for the background... this was taken toward the horizon at sunset... I followed her around everywhere she decided to roam for about an hour (resulting in a full range of backgrounds). I was lucky to get her even looking at me :)

Yes, that is, I think, a more flattering crop. Perhaps go with even less headroom? (The same width but slide the crop to move the head closer into the corner, allowing a fairly even space between the side of the head and the top of the head.

I could show you if you like?

If the background was a different color it might be fairly simple to separate the background while still in color and then darken the background a bit to help separate the top of the head from the background. Then convert to B&W.
