Joel, I'd love to hear more details about this shot. What were your settings, and did you do any post processing?
It's absolutely stunning!!
Thank you, KD! It's a three-shot HDR at 2 stop increments. HDR'd and tone-mapped in Photomatix, and finished off (not much to do at that point) in CS4. Of course it helped that I had some great light to work with there.
A really lovely capture joel. thumb I can't wrap my mind around the temperatures you folks are having though. Here it's 8:30 am and the temp is 52 deg. F. It's supposed to get up to 72 later this afternoon so maybe I'll be able to take my sweatshirt off.

Really? Where are you located? I know your profile says, MA, but I don't think it's that cold there. I'm originally from MA too, BTW. Check out our 10-Day forecast. Now that's living.
Thanks for your comments, Jack. Much appreciated.

Very nice shot! I do enjoy the AZ sunsets as well, especially this time of year during monsoon season. I'm just waiting for a good one to roll through Phoenix. I love the photo!
You have a mighty huge backyard, we have a pool but nothing the size of yours! I love it!

Thanks, Matrix. I'm waiting for the monsoons as well, it's my favorite time of year. BTW, I think we have more money tied up in the backyard than the rest of the house. You'll noticed I don't show the house.
On man, that 1st shot is amazing, Joel! Why go out hiking and freeze one's butt off when there are shots like this one to be had right by the pool!
Thanks, Mahesh! Truth be told, I have a whole gallery of pool shots. It's one of my favorite photographic destinations. Never any traffic to get there, and minimal fuel costs (a beer works nicely.)
DAMN! as a fan of HDR I love both of them, let alone your backyard!
Thanks, HD. If you liked HDRs, you might want to check out my Hoover Dam post over in the Other Cool Shots area if you haven't seen it yet. Not that I'm saying either one is an HDR mind you.

Thanks, man. HDR can be a pretty good tool if you don't abuse it too much.

I believe there is a good cook on premise too.
Very cool shot. The hot tub does not sound appealing but the pool does look refreshing.

Unfortunately I'd lost most of the really good sky color at that point. It don't last long.
