Toad in the Hole

The wife spotted a "stone coloured frog" (for goodness sake....) in the garden today so I went to see what the old woman was on about. Before I got there, our daughter started screaming (the stone coloured frog was hopping towards her).

Anyway, you all know of course it was a toad.

Here it is amongst the London's Pride plants with a conveniently placed plantpot just behind it (you wouldn't believe how unco-operative the toad was - took me a good 5 minutes for the bugger not to want to waddle off).

Persevered of course, and nailed (hopefully) the shot that looks good enough.

I did use the flash to lift the light a touch cos it was overcast, and under the toad's throat was losing a bit of detail, but I cloned the ring out of it's eye.

C&C as always.

Looks like you have a steady hand. Your AV mode gave an F8 setting with a 1/50 shutter speed. Wow. Good close up with fine details in this toad. Well done.

Tripod mounted Stephen. It opens out almost to ground level. :)
