Galleries Issue

I noticed today that I seem to have a gallery issue in which some appear like this:



While others appear like this:



Why do these border lines appear in some galleries? I prefer the first, cleaner look. This may be a customization issue, but I don't believe so. Also in the birds gallery, shouldn't the caption appear under the picture? Is there a way to fix this text alignment. Thanks for the help.

You used a theme for the birds gallery and not for the flora gallery. If you want them to look the same then use the same theme for both.

To center the caption under your photos, add this to your CSS:

.caption {
   text-align: center !important;
}

You have a theme set on the Birds gallery and no theme set on the Flora gallery. That's where the difference is. Without seeing your actual settings, I'm not sure what the best way to fix it is, but you probably want to set your default theme in your control panel and then make sure all galleries are set to use the default theme (thus giving you consistency).

Both galleries are set to smugmug classic, as well as my default theme. Do I need to make a custom theme for some reason? Thanks for the help.

The only way that I have been able to fix this is by removing the gallery from a community.

From the communities help page at http://www.smugmug.com/help/communities:

Note: Galleries associated with a community will either be smug default, or community default. They will not show your customization.

This is a very common complaint about communities. Smugmug designed it that way, not much you can do about it.
