Shopping is a good venue because people are doing something other than being vigilant about photographers stealing their souls. The vanishing point perspective works well in this shot to frame the dynamic of the crowd and holds a lot of complex elements together. Good sense of the heat of the day.
Those who don't remember Damon, well, he's one of the very most interesting (and ornery) photographers who ever posted on dgrin. Four years ago he managed to get himself banned from dgrin and I posted this appreciation of his work. Unfortunately, Damon seems to have moved his website and thus broken the links in my post.
