Thanks for the comments. Spending as much time wet and salty as I do, probably one of the best investments I have made was one of those Olypus waterproof point and shoots, which is wat all of these were taken with. It is limited in what it can do but I can have quik access to it on the water and not worry about getting it wet. This has feeded me up to get shots I never could with cameras that needed to be in waterproof boxes.

Beautiful series, Peter. I hope you can join us for some of the Acadia Shootout--I think you told me you'd be working then but hopefully you can get out of your "office" to join in.

    Lovely shots!

That looks like a lot of fun. It's good to see that you brought back some nice shots. I like #3 in particular.

My school has canoe and kayak rentals but I've always been too scared to bring my camera along as I've seen plenty of people capsize. I suppose you know a lot more about what you're doing out on the water though.

Gee - brutal working conditions. Tough place to work! My sympathies! rolleyes1.gif

Seriously - the pics are good and particularly considering the conditions - subject to the vagaries of the waves.

See you at the Shootout at all?

Thanks for all of the nice comments. As far as taking your camera on the water there are serious risks involved with that, my sugestion would be to either get a waterproof camera or waterproof housing, Aquapack makes a nice housing for d-slrs. I plan on being in Bar Harbor during the Shootout, just come to the waterfront and look for the docks full of kayaks. I would love to meet some d-grinners and give some advice to find some of the more out of the way places.thumb.gif
