Ok tomorrow I have a my first photo shoot with the store owner of a guitar shop and my close friend, Actually both of them are my close friends and they agreed to pose for me with their beloved guitars.

My question is this? Do I want foam core around there bodies and guitar?

Do I want them to year white contrasty type clothes?

Do I want to Bounce the flash off the sealing? and let the light fill up the room?

I will be using a tripod, and fstop of 5.6, 8.0 shutter speed of 60-30.

Good contrast makes for better B&W.

Is the object for you to take pictures for them to use (in the context of the guitar shop)? Or are they doing you a favour and acting as models for a shoot for your own use, in other words nothing to do with the shop?

The reason I ask, is that there was a discussion here recently about white-seamless shooting; here's one of the links:

…a very interesting technique, not too much outlay, and fabulous results from minimum gear.

    Hello Will.

My friends was acting as models for me, and I did manage to shoot them for my class alignment, The guitar shop was the back drop and I've asked them to bring their favorite guitar to use as a prop.

I knew my friends for about 4 years 3 of them was taking lessons and 1 of the years was just coming into the store and shooting the poo with them!

Anyways the shoot went very well and they actually wore contrasty clothing. So in all it was a good shoot and I have at least 6 negatives I got to pick and choose to print and show them!

Glad that it went OK. I should have checked the date of your original post; it seems like I was advising after the event…

…anyway, if you get a chance check out the page on the seamless-white technique.

So will you be posting any of the pictures here?

I've booked marked the link about the seamless black white thread, and no I cannot post the pictures, I've promised the only people that would see they're photo's would be my classmates, and my teacher.

That's what we agreed on, I wish I could show you guys and gals.

It would be worth asking them for permission to post here... if you explain that you're looking for feedback/critique and you're just showing the pics to a bunch of photographers, they might understand. Unless they were really freaked out about it in the first place...
