Oh he is a cutie and looks like he is full of mischief. Good job of capturing the moment. Focus looks a bit soft to me. Be sure to focus on the eyes. With only the natural light you might have been limited on shutter speed and aperture to allow for a good crisp shot.

Nice shot, he looks like trouble to me. It looks like he's got something up his sleeve, even though he doesn't have sleeves.

sure...im pretty new to all of this myself... I work exclusively with natural light as of now. Make sure your shooting for sunlight which would help keep the color a little cooler..as this feels a little warm to me. (brown, red, yellowish) also... i've found that shooting children in natural light you will have really be selective on your focus. For childrens portraits... you number one focal point should be the face and eyes. Over all... very good start! I hope that was helpful.

Ooooh, what a wonderful expression! Intelligent and mischievous -- that's an "if you only knew the trouble I'm planning for you" look if I've ever seen one. mwink.gif He must keep you very busy!

I agree with MissB that it's probably a tad warmer than reality, but I love it that way. WRT sharpness, his left eye actually looks pretty sharp to me, but his right eye is nearest, so that's the one we naturally expect to be in focus.

Thank you for the comments and feedback
Colour balance I always find challenging and something for me to work on!

WRT to sharpness, I guess it was the best I could do given the challenge of photographing a very lively and annimated three year old....he is definately a handful.

    Thanks again for the feedback
